Key takeaways

  • Predator means finishing a split inside the top 750 Master players on your platform. Master starts at 16,000 RP.
  • Every Master and Predator match costs 90 RP to enter, so your RP has to keep trending up game after game.
  • There is no fixed RP number for Predator: the #750 line moves as everyone around it plays.
  • Most points are lost before a fight starts, through late rotations, bad angles and fights with no exit.
  • Fix one repeat mistake a week. That's how Predator players stay consistent.

To reach Apex Predator in Apex Legends, you first climb to Master (16,000 RP) and then finish the split inside the top 750 Master players on your platform. Every Master and Predator match costs 90 RP to enter, so the players who make it pair solid mechanics with the macro decisions that keep their RP rising. If you're not in Master yet, start with our Apex Legends ranked guide.

Apex Predator requirements

Reach Master16,000 RP
Finish inside the top 750Counted per platform, among Master players
Pay the entry cost90 RP per Master or Predator match
Hold your spotThe #750 cutoff keeps moving until the split ends

Because the cutoff moves, the number to watch is your distance from the current #750 player, not a fixed RP target. Our Predator RP cutoff guide explains how to read it.

How long does it take to reach Predator?

There is no set number of hours or games. It depends on three things: how far you are from Master, how many RP you gain per game after the 90 RP entry cost, and how fast the #750 cutoff rises on your platform during the split. A squad that places well and joins its fights climbs faster than one that wins an early fight and dies mid-game. Our guide to gaining RP shows how placement and eliminations add up.

The five skills Predator players work on

  • Mechanics: aim, recoil control, tracking, weapon swaps.
  • Movement: strafing, cover use, slide timing, repositioning.
  • Positioning: angles, height, crossfire, safe exits.
  • Teamplay: roles, trades, cooldown timing.
  • Macro: rotations, zone reads, fight selection, endgames.

If you're stuck, you're usually leaking RP through one of these. Find the weakest and train it for a week.

Daily practice: a 30–40 minute routine

  1. 5 minutes of smooth tracking with no shooting, just crosshair control.
  2. 10 minutes of recoil control and first-bullet accuracy on your main AR or SMG.
  3. 10 minutes of close-range hipfire and strafe-shooting.
  4. 5–10 minutes of mid and long bursts: shoot, unpeek, reposition.
  5. Optional: 5 minutes of weapon-swap drills.

Keep one sensitivity. Muscle memory needs weeks on the same settings, not a new sens every day.

Winning fights: close, mid and long range

Close range: win the first second

Peek only when you shoot, hipfire when ADS would kill your strafe, and finish fast. Long close fights invite third parties.

Mid range: damage with safety

Shoot, unpeek, then re-peek from a different angle. Three players on one target creates the advantage.

Long range: pressure, not knocks

Burst, don't dump mags, and don't chase knocks you can't convert. Punishing teams that cross open ground buys placement later.

Positioning: three questions before you commit

  1. Where is the third party coming from?
  2. What is our exit if this goes wrong?
  3. Do we own the better angle: height, cover or a crossfire?

If any answer is "no", take the fight only if the reward is worth it, or create the angle first.

Team roles and comms

  • Fragger: creates the first crack or knock and pushes first when the team commits.
  • Anchor: holds space, watches third-party angles, focuses on resets.
  • IGL: calls rotations, which fights to take, and the endgame plan.

The callouts that matter: damage ("cracked", "one-shot"), focus ("shoot this", "swing left"), reset ("heal", "rotate"), cooldowns ("no bubble", "ult ready") and third parties ("team coming, we leave").

Rotations: zone or edge

Zone: rotate early, claim cover with height, and farm teams forced to move. Edge: clear the edge, reset fast, repeat, and never let a fight drag. Either reaches Predator; what matters is picking one and matching legends to it. Our rotation and positioning guide goes deeper.

When to fight and when to leave

Take the fight when you hold the angle, you've already done entry damage, you have an exit, and winning improves your position for the next zone.

Leave when you're late to zone, the fight will be loud, you're low on meds, ammo or armor, or your squad is split.

Endgames

Keep a playable spot rather than abandoning it, shoot when two other teams are already fighting, split your watch between the danger side and the rotate side, and save one reset tool for the last fight.

Solo queue to Predator

Ping your rotation before the squad splits, keep calls short ("rotate now", "reset"), trade first even if the plan was bad, and accept that you can't save a teammate who full-sends. Our solo queue to Master guide covers playing with randoms in more depth.

Your legend matters more with randoms, too: our Apex Season 30 tier list ranks every legend for ranked play.

A weekly plan

  • 5–6 days: 30–40 minutes of range practice, then ranked.
  • 2 days with a rotation focus: leave early, every game.
  • 2 days with a fight focus: clean trades and fast resets.
  • 1 day of review: watch your deaths and write one rule per mistake.

Review with five questions: what killed us, what was the first mistake, was it mechanics or a decision, what's the rule for next game, and how do we prevent it.

Want help with the Predator push

An Apex Predator boost takes your account from Master into the top 750, or higher targets such as the top 100 or Top 1, on your platform. It is played by hand, with duo queue available on request. If the Predator finish you ordered isn't delivered, you're eligible for a refund under the Refund Policy. You can check the peak ranks of the players who take these orders on their profiles, for example Dabraa (peaked Top 2 Predator). Customer reviews are collected independently on Trustpilot.

Apex Predator FAQ

How hard is it to get Apex Predator?

Hard by design: only the top 750 Master players on each platform hold it, and every match costs 90 RP to enter. It takes consistent placement and fight selection over a whole split, not one good session.

How many RP do you need for Predator?

There is no fixed number. You need Master (16,000 RP) and then more RP than the #750 player on your platform at the end of the split, and that line keeps rising as people play.

Is Predator counted per platform?

Yes. Each platform (PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2) has its own ranked ladder and its own top 750, so the cutoff differs by platform.

Can you reach Predator in solo queue?

Yes, but it is slower, because you can't control fight selection or rotations. Ping early, trade first and pick self-sufficient legends.

What is the fastest way to improve aim for Predator?

A fixed daily routine on one sensitivity: tracking, recoil control, close-range entry damage and mid-range peek discipline, then the same habits in ranked fights.
