Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not at launch, and Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 PC release date. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and those are the only platforms Rockstar has named. Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version, and there is nothing to pre-order on PC.
That is not the same as "never". Rockstar's last three big games all reached PC, but none of them on day one. Below is what that history shows, and how to tell a real announcement from the guesses you will see between now and then.
How long did Rockstar's last games take to reach PC?
Rockstar's three most recent big releases all came to consoles first:

GTA V is the outlier. Its PC version was first planned for autumn 2014, then moved three times before it shipped in April 2015. Rockstar said at the time that the extra months were for polish.
The pattern is clear: a console launch first, then a PC version announced separately, with its own date. It is a pattern, not a promise. Nothing in it tells you when GTA 6 will reach PC, and anyone giving you a month is guessing.
Why does Rockstar release on consoles first?
Rockstar hasn't explained its plans for GTA 6 on PC. What the earlier PC versions show is that they arrived as fuller versions rather than straight copies: GTA V's PC release came with higher resolutions and frame rates and a long list of graphics settings, and Rockstar delayed it three times to finish that work. Building a PC version on that scale takes time after the console version is done.
How will you know when GTA 6 PC is real?
A real GTA 6 PC announcement will come from Rockstar itself. Watch for:
- A Rockstar Newswire post. Rockstar announced the PC versions of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 on its own Newswire, each with a date.
- A store page. A pre-order or wishlist page on the Rockstar Games Store or Steam is a strong sign.
- Take-Two's quarterly results. Rockstar announced GTA 6's current release date on the same day as its parent company's earnings in November 2025.
Be careful with leaks, retailer placeholder listings and "insider" posts. A shop can list a product with a placeholder date long before the publisher announces anything.
Should PC players buy GTA 6 on console?
That depends on how long you are willing to wait. If you want to play at launch, a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is currently the only way. If you only play on PC, history suggests a wait measured in months rather than weeks, and there is no date to plan around yet.
