VALORANT Placement Boosting: Start the Act From a Better Rank
Placement matches are the competitive games VALORANT uses to decide the rank you start from - on a newly eligible account, or when you return to competitive. A placement boost has those matches played for you, or with you in a duo.
A poor placement costs far more games to climb out of than it took to play, which is why the starting point is worth getting right.
How the Order Is Priced
Placements are sold by the match. You choose how many matches to order and your last known rank - Unranked, or Iron through Immortal - and the price per match is set by that rank, rising from Iron to Immortal as the games get harder to win. The number of placement games VALORANT asks for depends on your account, so order the number you still have to play.
What Is and Is Not Promised
Every match you order is played, by hand, to win. A particular rank is not promised: VALORANT sets your placement from the results of those games and your account's own rating history, so two accounts with the same record can place differently.

Before Placements: Reaching Level 20
Competitive unlocks once an account reaches level 20, and only then can placement matches be played. If your account is still short of that, the Unrated Boost plays the matches that build the levels first.
