Dota 2 Unranked Boosting: Matches With No MMR at Stake
An unranked boost plays a number of unranked matches on your account, or with you in party queue. Unranked results do not move your MMR, so nothing on your ranked record is at stake.
Why Players Order It
Mostly for new accounts. Ranked matchmaking only unlocks after 100 hours of play and a phone number linked to your Steam account, and unranked matches are how most of those hours are built. Players also use unranked matches to warm up an account they are returning to.
What You Order
You choose a number of matches, and the price is the same per match whatever your rank. The order is counted in matches played, not wins: boosters play every match to win, but an unranked boost does not promise a win count.
Order Options
- Priority Order - top of the queue, completed at double the standard speed
- Play with Booster - play the matches yourself, in party queue with the booster
- Streaming - a private stream link to watch the matches
- Appear Offline - included free and on by default
How Many Matches Make 100 Hours
Dota matches commonly run thirty-five to fifty minutes, so 100 hours of play is somewhere around 120 to 170 matches, depending on game length and time between games. If you are building hours toward ranked, check your current playtime in your Steam profile and order the matches needed to close the gap - then the Calibration Boost can take the first ranked games.
Playing the Matches Yourself
With Play with Booster on, you play every unranked match on your own account in a party with the booster. It is a common choice for new players who want the hours and the practice at the same time.
