Season 5 at a glance

Battlefield 6 Season 5, Siege of Vegas, went live on 13 October 2026, and the Dead Space Convergence event inside it ends on 10 November. If you only have time for one thing in Battlefield 6 this week, play the event: its rewards can't be earned once it closes.

The season arrives in phases. This is what lands when, from EA's Season 5 roadmap and the 21 October community update:

Date What arrives
13 October Season 5 launch: Vegas Strip and Area 51 maps, four new weapons, Rapid Royale, Ranked Battle Royale, the new Battle Pass
20 October to 10 November Phase 1: Battlefield x Dead Space Convergence event
10 November Phase 2: European Casino map, Casino Heist event, Multiplayer Leaderboards, an attachment balance pass
8 December Phase 3: Frozen Aces update with Platoons, the Server Browser, Operation High Roller, updated Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, new weapons and gear, and the B-81 Cavalry

EA hasn't given an end date for Season 5. Its 21 October community update lists Season 6 for 2027.

The Gauntlet mode left the game on 13 October.

The new maps

Vegas Strip is the headline map. It supports every combat size, land vehicles and helicopters, and fights move between casinos, hotel interiors, crowded streets and the storm drains underneath. Treat it as two maps stacked on top of each other: vehicles own the streets, while the interiors and drains are where infantry flank. On Conquest, an Engineer who keeps the team's armour alive on the Strip while Assault players clear the casinos is the combination that holds flags.

Area 51 drops you into a fresh crater that leads down into the base's underground tunnels. The crater is open ground, so cross it in a vehicle or under smoke, and take the fight underground where long sightlines disappear.

European Casino arrives with Phase 2 on 10 November. EA calls it infantry-focused with close-quarters combat at its centre, so expect SMGs, shotguns and the new RSPR to shine there.

In Phase 3, Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City return with changes made from community feedback.

The four new weapons

All four weapons were available from launch day.

Weapon Type What makes it different
Mk 24 Assault rifle Gets deadlier at longer ranges, balanced by a small magazine
RSPR SMG (EA's patch notes call it a compact personal defence weapon) Built for very short range
Z84M LMG 100-round box magazine
ELR-40 Bolt-action sniper rifle A single-shot mode that moves its sweet spot to shorter distances

The quick read for your next match:

  • On Vegas Strip streets or Area 51's crater, the Mk 24 suits the long lanes. Count your shots, because the magazine is the trade-off.
  • Inside the casinos and tunnels, the RSPR is the pick for clearing rooms.
  • Holding a flag as Support, the Z84M's 100 rounds let you suppress a doorway without reloading mid-push.
  • As Recon on a close objective, the ELR-40's single-shot mode is the sniper option that works at mid range rather than only across the map.

If you are not sure which class fits each weapon, the Battlefield 6 classes guide covers what Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon each do.

The Dead Space Convergence event

The Battlefield x Dead Space Convergence event runs from 20 October to 10 November, in both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.

Its centrepiece is Marker Incursion, a 16-player PvE mode against AI-controlled Marked Soldiers, with a Pulse Rifle as a battle pickup. Fighting against Convergence unlocks the event rewards:

  • the Aegis VII soldier skin
  • the RIG-Certified SMG weapon package
  • two weapon stickers
  • soldier patches
  • a player card background
  • two in-game bundles

Event rewards can't be earned once an event has ended, so this is the one Season 5 deadline to plan around. Check the event's tab in-game for the exact steps for each reward. Each event and weekly objective also gives bonus path points on the Battle Pass, and every ten points unlocks a bonus path reward.

The Season 5 Battle Pass

The Season 5 Battle Pass has six instant unlocks, four themed paths and more than 100 tiers. There are three levels of access:

Free Battle Pass Battlefield Pro
Who gets it Everyone who owns Battlefield 6 or plays REDSEC Bought with Battlefield Coins Bought with real money
Tiers A limited set of free rewards All tiers All tiers
XP boost toward tiers None 10% 15% (10% plus 5%)
Tier skips None None 25
Extras Some instant unlocks Six exclusive instant unlocks, exclusive assignments, bonus paths, extra challenge rerolls, 100-player Portal servers

You earn tiers by playing, earning XP and completing Battle Pass challenges. Rewards usually appear as soon as a challenge is done.

The free track is worth working through even if you never buy the pass. If you play a few nights a week, though, decide on the paid pass early: the XP boost only helps the tiers you earn after you buy it.

REDSEC: Rapid Royale and Ranked

Season 5 brings two changes for REDSEC players:

  • Rapid Royale is a new, faster battle royale in Trios or Solos, with a lower player count, airdrops carrying some of the best loot in the game and the fastest ring of fire. Eliminations earn you redeploys, so in Rapid Royale an early fight is a chance to bank a life rather than a risk to avoid.
  • Ranked Battle Royale launched officially with Season 5, with redesigned rank badges. You need Career Rank 5 to queue. Ranked runs from Rookie through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond to Master, each with divisions I to V, and resets at the end of each season.

Armour plates also go on 20% faster by default in Battle Royale and Rapid Royale, and 12% faster again with the Engineer's Quick Plating perk. In a close fight, plating up behind cover is now much less of a gamble.

Changes from Update 2.1.1.0 worth knowing

The Season 5 update came with a long balance list. The changes most likely to decide your next match:

  • Helicopters are tougher against light rockets. A Scout Helicopter now takes 7 light rockets to destroy, up from 4, and an Attack Helicopter takes 9, up from 5. Light rocket splash damage is down 30%.
  • Anti-air hits much harder. The 35mm High Velocity AA now does 45 damage to helicopters (up from 26) and 62.5 to jets (up from 32.5), and no longer overheats. The Mobile AA turret turns 50% faster. If enemy pilots dominated your Season 4 games, try the AA again.
  • Tanks are weaker from behind. Hits on a tank's rear now deal 2.5 times damage, so an Engineer who flanks armour gets a real payoff.
  • Laser designation is quicker. The LTLM II now locks in 2 seconds instead of 9.
  • The SVDM kicks harder. Its recoil changed, along with recovery on the SVDM and M39 EMR.
  • Controller recoil compensation is down from 11% to 5%.

More balance is on the way: EA plans an attachment pass in Phase 2 that nerfs the extended magazines on the SCW-10 and KV9.

If you missed Season 4's weapons, catch-up challenges for the BROD 3, Interdictor and VSSM are now in the game.

Getting more out of the season

A season's rewards are fixed to its calendar. Two habits help you finish what you want:

  1. Do the time-limited content first. The Dead Space event ends on 10 November, Casino Heist starts that day, and weekly objectives give bonus path points. Battle Pass tiers can be earned until the season ends.
  2. Use challenge rerolls. Swap the challenges that don't fit how you play for ones you will finish in your normal matches.

If the challenges are what's holding you back, BoostingXP's Battlefield 6 challenges boost completes the ones you choose, played by hand on your account. The Battlefield 6 page lists the level, weapon, vehicle and dog tag services too.
